This 3D printed replacement lid kit is designed to fit Exo Terra medium Natural Terrariums line of front-opening terrariums measuring 24" wide x 18" deep, compatible with tanks 12", 18", 24", or 36" tall.
It includes all necessary 3D-printed parts and fasteners — you will assemble it yourself, and glass is not included.
These don't fit the new Pro series (as far as I know).

🧩 Kit Components & Assembly

Our ET Series lid design consists of six precision-printed pieces:

  • One bar for each side

  • Two bars for the front

  • Two bars for the back

The front and back bars snap together to form two long pieces, each with built-in fine printed mesh for ventilation.
These long pieces then connect with the side bars to form the complete lid frame.
The glass panel (not included) is held securely in place by plastic pressure tabs.

⚙️ Functional Details

Each lid includes six capped holes — one in each corner, plus one in the front center and back center.
Each comes with a flush screw-in plug for versatility.
These holes can be used in multiple ways:

  • Misting nozzle adapters (optional): Compatible with standard misting nozzles for a seamless fit.

  • Feeder caps (optional): Allow for feeding or watering without opening your enclosure.

  • Cord pass-through: Back corner holes align with the tank’s cord cutouts — suitable for cords, though not large plug heads. Optional cord pass-through caps for tighter fits are available.

  • Solid vent inserts (optional): Plastic strips that can be installed and block airflow through the mesh for high-humidity environments.

You can keep all holes capped if not needed.

🪟 Glass Panel (Not Included)

To avoid high shipping costs and breakage risk, glass is not included.
You can have glass cut to size at Lowe’sor most hardware stores (usually for free).

Glass opening: 14" x 21 ¾"
Recommended glass size: 13 15/16" x 21 11/16" (slightly smaller to fit the 5mm lip).

Compatible glass thicknesses:

  • Standard 3/32” glass (recommended)

  • 1/8” or tempered glass (optional)

⚠️ Safety tip: Handle freshly cut glass carefully and sand edges with fine-grit sandpaper to remove sharp edges.

🕸️ Mesh Vents

Each vent section includes a built-in 3D printed fine mesh that:

  • Won’t rust or corrode

  • Is safe for tarantulas and other small animals (no toe-catching)

  • Is fine enough to prevent fruit flies from escaping

Optional solid vent inserts are available for those who need to maintain higher humidity.

This lid is compatible with modern Exo Terra terrariums featuring half-circle top latches.
Older models with a different latch style may not fit unless the latch points are removed.
These older tanks are rare, but please check before purchasing.
