This 3D printed replacement lid kit is custom-designed to fit Exo Terra large Natural Terrariums line of front-opening terrariums that measure 36" wide x 18" deep (compatible with 12", 18", 24", or 36" tall models).
Please note — this is a kit for you to assemble and does not include the glass panel.
These don't fit the new Pro series (as far as I know).
Our ET Series lid is made up of six main 3D-printed pieces:
One bar for each side
Two bars for the front
Two bars for the back
The front and back bars snap together to form two long pieces, each featuring built-in fine printed mesh. These long pieces then connect with the side bars to form the complete lid frame.
The glass center (not included) is secured using plastic pressure tabs for a snug, clean fit.
This new ET Series design offers a more integrated, all-in-one solution compared to our earlier models.
Each lid includes six versatile port holes — one at each corner, plus one at the front center and back center.
These come fitted with flush screw-in plugs and can be used in several ways:
Misting nozzle adapters: Compatible with standard misting systems (sold separately).
Feeder caps: Optional add-ons allow you to easily pass food or water through the lid.
Cord pass-through: The back corner holes align with the tank’s cord cutouts — suitable for cords (but not large plug heads). Optional cord pass-through caps for a tighter seal are available separately.
Solid vent inserts: Optional plastic inserts can be attached to block airflow through the mesh for maintaining high humidity.
For shipping safety and cost efficiency, glass is not included.
You can easily have glass cut to size at Lowe’s or another local hardware store — often for free.
Glass opening size: 14" x 33 ¾" (357mm x 857mm)
Recommended glass size: 13 15/16" x 33 11/16" (allowing a 1/16" margin for the 5mm lip).
Compatible glass thicknesses:
Standard 3/32” regular glass (recommended)
1/8” or tempered glass (optional)
⚠️ Safety tip: Sand freshly cut glass edges with fine-grit sandpaper to remove sharp edges.
Each vent section has 3D printed fine mesh that:
Won’t rust or corrode
Prevents fruit flies from escaping
Is safe for tarantulas and other small creatures (no toe-catching)
Optional solid vent inserts are available for setups requiring no airflow and higher humidity retention.
This lid is designed for modern Exo Terra tanks that use half-circle top latches.
Older Exo Terra models with different latch systems may not be compatible unless latch points are removed.
The lid ships as a snap-together kit with detailed instructions.
Assembly requires no tools, and a video tutorial will soon be available.
